Promote Inner Balance
GUA SHA
Gua Sha is a popular, simple, fast, and effective Asian technique also known as “skin scrapping”. "Gua" means to scrape. "Sha" refers to petechia, reddish, minute hemorrhages that look like a reddish speckled rash, as a result of the skin scrapping. “Sha” also refers to qi and blood stasis obstructing meridian pathways and accumulation in the subcutaneous tissue. From the western medicine point of view, “Sha” refers to the metabolic waste containing-fluids that accumulate in the tissues and muscles.
This modality can be accomplished by the use of any tool with smooth surfaces like ceramic Chinese soup spoon, metal spoon, a fifty-cent coin or a gua sha board constructed out of horned animal bones, water buffalo horn, or jade.
When Gua ha is performed you are literally “scrapping away” stagnant blood and excess metabolic waste from deep cellular tissues making room for the creation of new, healthier blood cells. It also increases microcirculation, stimulates the natural pain relieving opioid system, oxidizes your cells, and increases the efficiency of nutrient absorption.
Gua sha can be used to treat:

Gua sha can be performed 3 times a week and has better results when done on a continuous basis.
In short, Gua Sha is the safest, easiest and most natural way to relieve pain, detoxify your body, improve circulation, nourish body cells, and promote inner balance and health resulting in outer vitality.
Note:
Gua Sha is a very therapeutic, soothing treatment that yields great results. But often gua sha will leave marks on the skin that resemble bruises. These will disappear on their own.
In order to get the full detox benefits, make sure you rest after each treatment. Do not engage in the drugs, alcohol, sex, fasting, binging, hard labor, or strenuous exercises for the rest of the day.
Make sure you drink plenty of warm water for the next couple of days to keep the body hydrated so the body can properly eliminate toxins released during the treatment.
Finally, make sure that you keep warm ensuring your body’s increased metabolism and self-healing process continues to work well. So, avoid wind, sudden changes in temperature, taking cold showers or drinking cold drinks.
